A feis is an opportunity for dancers of a like age and grade to compete against each other in an open arena. Feis is an irish word and when translated means ‘festival’.
The feis often has live musicians and will most definitely have a live audience.
Dancers at a feis represent their own dance class and can travel from all over the world to participate.
Be sure to read the feis tips if attending your first one, it’ll make it a more enjoyable event!
Your number is the way the adjudicator will tell each individual competitor apart. It is important to give your full name and Dance school name (not the educational school you attend every weekday!) at the point of registration.
Make sure you can spell the school name correctly!
Hint: For the younger dancers with the skirt costume, the logo on the t-shirt has the name of the school written on it!
Hint: If you are getting more than one number (for a sister/brother) it is handy to write their initials on the back so the two don't get confused.
