A feis is an opportunity for dancers of a like age and grade to compete against each other in an open arena. Feis is an irish word and when translated means ‘festival’.
The feis often has live musicians and will most definitely have a live audience.
Dancers at a feis represent their own dance class and can travel from all over the world to participate.
Be sure to read the feis tips if attending your first one, it’ll make it a more enjoyable event!
Give a general tidy up to your appearance, remember you are going onstage and look your best! Numbers need to be secured to the front of your costume. With the skirt the pin should be attached to the waistband. In a full costume use the provided pin hooks. Try to remember a safety pin to make it less hard work!
